TedTalk: Mind F*cked
This was definitely one of the most memorable projects of this year because it forced me to reflect on my consciousness and expertise in order to create an educational talk. Since there were no constraints on topics, I found myself very intrigued by the idea of reality and the factors that played a role into creating this. My mind ran through various topics but this was the final one I choose: Mind F*cked. Since the thrilling topic of reality meant differently for everyone, I'd thought it'd be pretty cool to give a Ted Talk on what my thoughts of reality were. But since I did my project very last minute, my thoughts weren't as concise as I wanted it to be. So if a project like this comes around next time, I would give myself more time. How I Built This
In this assignment, we were required to research/listen to a podcast interview of a successful business person. I chose Jenn Hyman as the star of this paper and I learned a lot from her just through this interview I listened in on. Her story was inspiring to me as a young woman and if I were to do this assignment again, I would definitely go more in depth and do more extensive research on her.
Self-Inquiry/Vision Boards
This was also another favorite assignment of mine as it required me to truly reflect on what realistic goals I can achieve. As I was flipping through various magazines to look for collage-worthy cutouts, I realize that I did not give enough time on this project or maybe I wasn't open minded enough. At least I'll be more open-minded to new goals in the future when I'm doing vision boards.
Archetypes
I know I've said that I have a lot of favorite assignments in this class but if you were to make me pick my most favorite one, I really can't pick because it definitely would be a tie between this and the other three above it. When our teacher made us research what each of our archetypes meant, I got a better understanding of myself. This is one of the reasons why I liked this assignment and this class in general because it's not just about learning the industry, it's about getting a better understanding of yourself in the process too. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to do enough research on this assignment but at least I'll know where to go if I ever want to learn more about myself!
